The Valencia Opera House, located in the City of the Sciences, Valencia, Spain, was designed by architect Santiago Calatrava. Competed in 2005, this landmark building functions as an Opera House and theater for the Arts & Sciences Center. The building program is encased within a football-like shell. Santiago Calatrava's designs often refer to anatomical structures.
